Robert Carrick was commissioned by Jenkins and Marr Architects to design the interiors at Buchanan Galleries in 1995.
Opened in April 1999 the interiors were conceived as a contemporary take on the historical traditions of the Victorian Glasgow arcades.
Avoiding the cliches of the out of town shopping centre, the design is unified by the repetition of the section as a continuos spacial experience punctuated with connecting volumes with vertical circulation.
